What are the fines and penalties for Driving While Suspended due to DWI or Refusal to Submit in New Jersey?

Driving While Suspended due to conviction for Driving While Intoxicated or Refusal to Submit. If conviction for DWI suspension, $250 surcharge per year for 3 years.

Fines
Fine: $1000,
and
Court Costs: Up to $33
Loss of Driver’s License
Shall have his license to operate a motor vehicle suspended for an additional period of not less than 1 year or more than 2 years
Revocation of Registration
Revocation of all registration certificates for the period driver’s license is suspended (see N.J.S.A. 39:3-40.1);
 
For driving while suspended due to Refusal to Submit, revocation of registration certificate and registration plates during a period when that violator’s driver’s license has been suspended within a 5-year period;
 
Possible impoundment of vehicle pursuant to N.J.S.A. 39:3-40.3
Jail
Shall be imprisoned in the county jail for not less than 10 days or more than 90 days
If driving while suspended due to DWI or Refusal to Submit and previous conviction of Driving While Suspended, crime of the 4th degree: Imprisonment for not less than 180 days (during which the defendant shall not be eligible for parole) nor more than 18 months;
 
If driving while suspended due to second or subsequent violation of DWI or Refusal to Submit, crime of the 4th degree: Imprisonment for not less than 180 days (during which the defendant shall not be eligible for parole) nor more than 18 months;
